Topic vechi, problema actuala

Focus 1,8 benzina 2000, model 2001.

$1 scrie:$2 have seen were water in the ECU can throw the B2159, there is a 3 amp fuse in the fuse box .this is the memory for the engine control unit.check to see if this has blown. If the fuse is blown the ECU needs to be replaced.
I would start with this problem more then likely it is what is causing the stalling if you do not keep it running
$1 scrie:$2rom the research I have done the fault lies with the connection from pin 14 (white wire) of the green connector from the CSM to pin 15/11 of the fuse box under the glove box (there's about 6 connectors that go to it, I can't remember off-hand which colour one it is). This connection then finally goes to pin 26 of the Central Timer Module (CTM) which is located on the reverse of the fuse panel (along with fuse 63).
I think the 'short to ground' bit is misleading as if I read codes off the CSM on the bench with nothing connected I get the code B2159. If I apply 12V to pin 14 of the CSM the code goes away. So I suspect that 'short to ground' can be shown even if it's just an open circuit, the CSM must expect pin 14 to be normally high (12V).
My plan of attack next is to run a separate wire from the CSM to the fuse panel hoping that it might just be a break somewhere in the loom. There's also a possibility that the connection between the front of the fuse panel and the CTM is damaged or that the CTM itself is faulty.
