$2Dupa 1 ianuarie 2008 cauciucurile de iarna vor fii obligatorii in Austria. Legea se va aplica intre 1 nov. si 15 apr. Cauciucurile ( symbol M+S pe margine) trebuie sa aiba min. 4mm profil. Legea include autoturisme si transportere s-au camionete pana la 3,5t. Cei fara cauciucuri de iarna sunt obligati sa monteze lanturi pe puntea cu tractiune. Dealtfel amenda se va inclina intre 35 si 5000E pentru cei care vor fi prinsi pe sosele inzapezite. Pe deasupra masina poate fi scoasa din circulatie pe loc de catre autoritati.

The Austrian government introduces the winter tire obligation by law. Who is gotten with "winter driving conditions" without winter tires, must pay sometimes strongly.

The Austrian government decided the winter tire obligation by law. The new law steps on 1 January 2008 into strength, in the future however from 1 November to 15 April will apply, whereby expressly "winter conditions" must prevail.

That means: Steering wheels of a passenger car, a combination motor vehicle or a truck with a highest permissible total weight of any more than 3500 kilograms may not take "with winter roadway conditions, in particular with snow, Matsch orice ", their vehicle only then in enterprise, "if at all wheels winter tires are installed, or if tire chains are attached at the drive wheels". Parking passenger cars are excluded.

It can become expensive: up to 5000 euro punishment

Who offends against the regulation, - differently than in Germany - one punishes: Simple offences are punished with a so-called organ meeting order at a value of 35 euro. If however endangerment facts (with summer tires drive direction passport) are present, it becomes correctly expensive: Winterreifensuender can be punished then in an administrative criminal procedure with up to 5000 euro. The police gets beyond that also the possibility of letting the vehicle concerned turn off.

It however stressed that the regulation turns off expressly to winter roadway conditions, it thus not generally applies: If the roadway drying is, or exhibits it - due to precipitation - only wetness, without to the formation of snow, Matsch or ice leads, one does not need a winter equipment. Who does not have a garage and its vehicle parks over winters only on the road and anyway not used, does not have to reequip likewise.

E o lege la fel de buna ca si cea cu purtatul centurii.

Cea cu purtatul centurii nu mi se pare o lege foarte buna (e strict legata de protectia personala) ... pe cand legile care se refera la siguranta traficului si a celorlalti participanti la trafic mi se par OK.
